Cub Scout Camp 2012
This is Pike's last year of Cub Scout Camp. His favorite part of camp is fiching and this year the fish were biting. This picture is Pike's first catch. He went on to catch many more. I will get the total later today. Pike as usual was placed in a much younger group despite my insistance that he was not in the right one. These kids were going in to Third grade next school year while Pike is going into Fifth. So basically we were playing with little brothers which Pike is a por at. It was really sweet to see him being so kind and helping them and they just looked up to him and really like being around him. He of course was the best at everything and was the star kickball player which made up for everything. By lunch I knew he needed to be with his friends and kids closer to his age. So I spoke to the Denwalkers (parents in charge) and worked him into their group and then told the Leader of the camp what was happening and basically she could like it or lump it and after some haggling and finagling to her credit she worked it all out within her system and he was able to stay in the group Webelos 2 with his friends from church. So for the rest of the week he had so much fun and I am so glad I was able to spend two days with him as a denwalker. He is such a kind, thoughtful, and well behaved boy. All of which have nothing to with M or Me. He is so out going and not scared of anything. M and I were always shy and scared as kids and even now as adults we have social issues, not Pike. He is definitely our hero. And sweet fishing moves! "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
